It’s been a while, but I’m still here…

Hey ๐Ÿ™‚

“When jarred, unavoidably, by circumstances, revert at once to yourself, and don’t lose the rhythm more than you can help. You’ll have a better grasp of the harmony if you keep going back to it” – Marcus Aurelius, Meditations, 6.11

My writing habit took a big hit in March when COVID restrictions were put in place in Scotland and the UK. For most of us, the restrictions resulted in focusing on what was important to us and letting everything else go, at least for a while. For me, that meant putting the health and safety of my family first, and making sure I could still earn a living. This personal project was one thing I had to put to the side and return to later.

Thankfully, everyone at home remains healthy and we’re continuing to take precautions to stay safe and protect others that are close to us. How have you coped over the past 6 months?

Another factor that has affected my physical and mental capacity to write letters is that my work at IMPACT stepped up a gear. When COVID hit the US our clients needed us more than ever, and I’m pleased that I have managed to retain almost all of my clients over the past 8+ months. I’m probably working harder now than I ever have in my career as a marketer – by the end of 2020 I will have literally banked over 400 hours of consulting this year. That’s an incredible amount of work!

In the past few months I’ve slowly been warming back up to doing more writing and I think about this personal project when I’m out on my daily walks around the local park. I’ve been spending almost all my ‘spare’ time reading, and you can get an update on my reading right here on my website or by heading over to Goodreads.

Writing something meaningful that I will feel proud to send to you is important to me. There’s enough half-baked content being published every day, and we certainly don’t need more of it. I want you to know that when I send you something to read that I’ve spent time on it and that it will be worth your time.

All this to say…I’ve missed you, and I hope you’ll be glad to know that I’m back to tippy-tappying the keys on my keyboard and I’ll have a new letter with you soon.

My hope is that you will stay subscribed to the list…at least until I get my next letter out to you ๐Ÿ™‚

DFTBA!

Chris.
